Brownie and the Mysterious Box.

Children's fictionEnglish

“Brownie is a dog so small he fits comfortably in a grown-up's hands, and so brown he has been mistaken for a piece of chocolate. His joys are simple: treats, his owner Mr. Whity, and the safety of home.”

Brownie is a dog so small he fits comfortably in a grown-up's hands, and so brown he has been mistaken for a piece of chocolate. His joys are simple: treats, his owner Mr. Whity, and the safety of home. His fears are simple too, chiefly the enormous stray dogs at the park, who have paws bigger than his whole head. Then a wooden box turns up in the neighbour's garden, old and dusty and locked, and the smallest dog on the street decides to drag it home. It takes a mistake, a hospital and a very sticky plan before Brownie works out what he actually cares about, and even then the box keeps its biggest secret to the very last page.
