The agreement between you (the parent or guardian) and Bukmuk Publishing for publishing your child's book. You accept it at checkout.
This is the agreement between you (the parent or guardian) and Bukmuk Publishing, a part of iKitaab Web, a partnership firm registered in India at BW31A, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi (“Bukmuk”, “we”, “us”), for publishing your child’s book. By ticking “I agree” and typing your name at checkout, you accept it.
Your child is under 18, so you — their parent or guardian — agree on their behalf and are responsible for what’s in here. You confirm you’re their parent or lawful guardian.
We’ll turn your child’s manuscript or artwork into a published book (or anthology entry) with everything you picked — editing, cover, ISBN, printing, author copies, Amazon listing, and any extras. We aim to have it ready in about 8–10 weeks after we get the final manuscript and payment, depending on how quickly approvals come back.
You’ll review and approve the book before we print it. Once you’ve approved it, any further changes you ask for — or reprints for mistakes that weren’t ours — may cost extra.
Your child does. Publishing with us doesn’t change that. You’re just letting us edit, design, print, and sell the book (including on Amazon.in and Amazon.com) for as long as it’s in publication. Anything we create — like the cover or commissioned illustrations — stays ours, but you’re free to use the finished book however you like.
Your child earns a royalty on every copy sold on Amazon.in. The royalty is a share of what each copy actually sells for (after any Amazon discount), once Amazon’s fees and the cost of producing and handling the book are covered. We pay it out every quarter to the bank account you give us, once it crosses ₹500, with a sales statement each quarter.
Royalties apply only to Amazon.in sales. Copies we sell directly are already offered at a discount, so they don’t carry a separate royalty.
You confirm the story is your child’s own original work — not copied from anyone — and that it doesn’t contain anything unlawful or inappropriate for a children’s publisher.
If a problem comes up because that wasn’t true — for example, someone claims the work was copied — we may pause or stop publishing, and you agree to cover any reasonable costs we face because of it. We can also decline to publish anything that breaks the law or our content guidelines; if we decline before we’ve started work, you get a full refund.
To publish the book and share their achievement, we’ll use your child’s first name, age, a short bio, and (if you give us one) a photo — on the book, our website, and our marketing. You’re okay with that by agreeing here, and you can opt out of marketing anytime by emailing [email protected] (we just can’t recall anything already printed).
We only use your and your child’s details to make and sell the book, as set out in our Privacy Policy. We won’t track or advertise to your child. As the parent, you’re giving consent for us to handle your child’s information, and you can ask us to update or delete it anytime at [email protected].
All payments are made in full and in advance — we begin work only after payment. Prices are in INR and include applicable taxes.
If you need to cancel, here’s how refunds work:
Your package includes 2 printed copies, sent to the address you give us. You can buy more anytime. Delivery times are estimates and depend on our print and courier partners.
Listing on Amazon and other shops follows their own rules, which can change, so we can’t promise a book stays available forever or guarantee any sales.
We’ll do our work with care. If something does go wrong, the most we’d owe you is what you paid us for the service, and we’re not responsible for indirect losses like lost sales. Some delays are outside our control — printers, couriers, or platforms like Amazon — and those aren’t our fault. Nothing here takes away any responsibility we’re not allowed to limit under the law.
This agreement follows Indian law, and any disputes go to the courts in Delhi. It starts when you accept it and lasts while the book is in publication. We might update these terms for future orders, but the version you agreed to is the one that applies to your order.
You agree by ticking “I agree” and typing your full name at checkout. That counts as your signature. When you do, we save your name, the date and time, your IP address, and your order details, and we email you a copy.
